I'm taking a break from staring at the nearly blank page of my MS Word program. I'm still in the beginning stages of the third act of the superhero novel and I'm stuck. Writer's Block is wreaking vengeance upon me. After weeks of not being able to write very much, I find myself staring at pages. It feels like my writing "chops" are atrophied. I'm not happy with what I've been putting out. However children, most "real" writers will tell you to push through the block and force yourself to write. So that's what I'm going to have to do.
On a positive note, I was able to live out a long-time dream this weekend when I was able to go see one of my idols, Fish, in concert in Milwaukee. The show was absolutely brilliant. When it started, I had this sensation of a fairy-tale coming to life, as I'd only seen the man in still pictures and a few videos that I have. Other than his music, he was something of a mystery to me. Fish's music is one of the things I listen to a lot while I'm writing. It was great to finally see him live.
Ah well, back to the writing.
